I did post an 'incoming' but this vintage Rodania chrono finally made it to it's new home and I am thrilled.

PS: I had posted about the possibility that this watch could have been conceived prior to the famed Speedmaster CK2915-1 of 1957. I did some research and contacted Rodania. Unfortunately, the Rodania records from that era were destroyed so it's impossible to date this watch with certainety. All I could get was that this chrono was produced in limited quantities in the 'mid to late 50s'.

Is that so bad??? id="post_message_255759">Hey guys...I am often being troubled with my omegas compared with other watches...
Yesterday, a close relative of mine was wearing a Daytona and i told him that is a fine watch blah blah and that I also have a SMP.
His reaction was Pf!!!
.....How come and noone respects Omega???
Why do brands like Rolex are perceived superior than Omega???

Omega SMP Chronometer with "Chronometer" written on the dial? id="post_message_265684">Dear members,

I recently baught a mid-size Omega SMP quartz (pre-owned) wich is beutiful.
Last week I received a call from the shop of wich I baught it from, the dealer told me they have the mid-size SMP, although an old one (the red hand faded to orange, and the blue bezel became slightly brighter blue) but an automatic.
I personally favours automatic watches. I came to check the watch and noticed it doesn't have the chronometer writing on the dial, although it's automatic.

I really want to make the switch, give my quartz back, add 100$ and take the automatic.

Does old SMP series didn't have the writing or should I be suspecious?

Omega If you were going to look for a niche for a collection-5945 -

of vintage Omegas, what would it be? I am thinking about starting down this path, but don't really know what a possible niche is that would involve finding and collecting Omegas that you won't see on everyone's list. Any thoughts? I have researched Globemasters, but that may be too small a niche??? Any other thoughts. I am thinking of vintage, something that was made in gold and or two/tone as well as steel? The Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton group, the world’s leading producer of luxury goods, recorded a turnover in the first quarter of 2008 of 4.0 billion euros, an increase of 5% compared to the same period last year. Organic growth, i.e. based on comparable structure and exchange rates, was 12%.

Orange acrylic bars emerge through the face like neon lights, achieving a perfect balance with the custom made strap which is cast from aluminum and inlayed with stainless steel. The hairline brushed finish on the solid aluminum case captures the quality of the design.

Twelve light bars present the time in a simple, easy to read format. Press the button and the LEDs behind the acrylic diffuse and illuminate the bars three times. First hours are presented, then groups of ten minutes, then single minutes. The speed of movement can be accelerated by pressing the button again. Denshoku means illumination in Japanese. When the animation mode is activated, Denshoku’s light bars illuminate vertically once every minute for twelve minutes after the time is shown.

This design also features an energy saving mode allowing you to control the LED brightness to lengthen battery life and is available with a black or silver alumite finish.

Shawn also has October 17^th marked as Shawn Johnson Day in her native state of Iowa. Shawn also happens to be the youngest participant and winner in the Dancing with the Stars reality show.
